Nurse Take Home Pay Calculator
This nurse take home pay calculator works out exact monthly pay for registered nurses on the NHS Agenda for Change bands, using the 2026/27 pay scales (a 3.3% award effective 1 April 2026) and the correct NHS Pension Scheme contribution tier.
Most nurses start on Band 5 as a newly qualified nurse (£32,073 to £39,043 for 2026/27), move to Band 6 as a senior or specialist nurse (£39,959 to £48,117), and can reach Band 7 as an advanced nurse practitioner or ward manager (£49,387 to £56,515).
A newly qualified Band 5 nurse takes home about £2,040 a month in England; a Band 6 nurse at entry about £2,430; a Band 7 nurse at entry about £2,930, before unsocial-hours enhancements.
It also handles London HCAS weighting, unsocial-hours pay for shift work, part-time contracted hours and student loan repayments.
